When I think of my fave “healthy go to’s” ginger tea is top of the list! It’s not actually tea, technically it’s a tisane, peeled and chopped ginger root simmered with water until it gets a beautiful golden color. Depending on your “heat” tolerance and preference (ginger has a little bit of a kick), you can make it stronger by using more ginger and simmering for longer, or you can start easy with less ginger and less cooking time. You can drink it hot, cold, sweetened with honey, plain, or with additional flavors. It provides energy and is amazing for your immunity. Here’s a good starter recipe. Give it a try – make a big batch and keep in your fridge. It even tastes great added to Prosecco (a strong sweetened batch is ideal for that). Yum!
